Heinrich Böll Foundation

Can you communicate complex, controversial and sensitive social justice and governance issues in a way that is human?

The Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBF) is a reliable funding partner to many organisations and individuals that are doing incredible work to promote human rights, social justice, sustainable development, gender equality and democratic governance. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed helping them showcase their research and shine a spotlight on the important impact of their partners’ work in Southern Africa. This work includes podcasts interviewing amazing African changemakers, grassroots protest action against environmental degradation, strategic human rights litigation to protect the rights of children to access education, and more.

We’ve assisted the Foundation with maintaining their online presence on an ongoing basis through regular updates to their website, as well as developing content for their social media platforms. This includes posts sharing news stories about their partners and events. The human rights, governance and environmental justice issues at play are fascinating but such delicate subject matter needs to be treated with sensitivity. We’ve been able to create content that consistently strikes a balance between raising awareness around these sometimes complex issues in a human way and highlighting the multifaceted work that the Foundation’s partners do.

“Now that the PPIPP Video and Podcast launch has been completed I wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who contributed. Thank you to HBF for sponsoring the use of Pomegranite’s services. Tomas and Mulesa (and the invisible design team in the background) were excellent and I learnt a thing or two along the way.”
