One Ocean Hub is an independent programme for collaborative research for development, funded by UK Research and Innovation through the Global Challenges Research Fund. It aims to transform our response to the urgent challenges facing our ocean. Its research seeks to bridge current disconnections in law, science and policy and integrate governance frameworks to balance multiple ocean uses with conservation. It strives to empower the communities, women and children, most reliant upon the oceans to inform decisions based on multiple values and knowledge systems.
We were tasked with building a website for the Hub that would showcase their research into the different challenges and opportunities facing the various focus territories, which include Ghana, Namibia, the Pacific Islands and South Africa. The design was the product of a collaborative effort, which included workshops with representatives from the 22 international universities and research centres that make up the Hub. The site will continue to grow as findings get released.View site
