The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve lies within the Greater Kruger National Park open system, and within the internationally declared Kruger 2 Canyons UNESCO Man and Biosphere System. In Xitsonga, the name ‘Timbavati’ means “the place where something sacred came down to Earth from the Heavens” and refers to the rare white lions of the reserve.
The redesigned website we built for Timbavati highlights their three key focus areas: conservation, outreach and accommodation. Special features for the site include an interactive map and slider showcasing the lodges that are part of the reserve.
In 2021, Timbavati launched the Timbavati Traverse – a unique fundraising event which exposes you to the beauty and untouched wilderness of the Reserve. This year they expanded the event to include both a 45km ultra-marathon trail run and 21km half-marathon walkers’ trail.
We were asked to create a website that highlighted this incredible event, inspiring visitors to either book a slot or donate directly to the affiliated causes.
In order to drive registrations, we ran a social media and Google Ad campaign, which proved successful, particularly for the walking trail, which filled up quickly.
