Why it’s important to unplug sometimes

I recently went on a two-week holiday to Thailand and Cambodia, which was pretty magical. Before I left, one of the things I was most looking forward to (besides the white-sand beaches, daily massages and sunset cocktails – I know, I don’t like me very much either right now) was unplugging. Not checking email, or even Facebook (I know).

I set my out-of-office, and, in a moment that should have had a soundtrack of trumpets, deactivated my work email on my phone. And just like that, before I’d even stepped on the plane, I was on holiday.READ MORE

Pomegranite’s 2nd Birthday Party

On Friday 21 August we celebrated Pomegranite’s 2nd birthday! Our celebration took the shape of a Pomegranite-themed quiz night. We were having so much fun that it slipped our minds entirely to document the event. In the endless sea of tedious office party Facebook albums we will offer you an alternative, albeit an accidental one. We have a few snapshots from a number of different sources (this accounts for the very necessary black and white editing), a slide or two from the quiz and the fantastic speech given by Sarah on the night. The office yoga revelation

I sometimes feel like the internet is one big tangle of shiny links that catch your eye, pulling you through door after door as you click, click, click, scroll, scroll, scroll. I try to limit this online rabbit-hole-ing to specific times of the day, otherwise I’d never get any work done. Because before you know it, you’ve delved into the depths of a stranger’s engagement shoot (when you know that you think the whole idea of an engagement shoot is a bit much), but there you go, devouring online content as you devour your lunch, forgetting that there is a real world, complete with real live people, on the other side of your earphones.
