Brainstorming a photo shoot – for Pomegranite
Pomegranite is planning a make-over. As a company we preach the importance of accurately and effectively representing your brand online. Pomegranite has been so busy building websites for other awesome brands and clients that we have neglected to take our own advice for some time now.
If you are reading this, you know what our website looks like now:
We loved our first website, but it’s been 2 years since we launched and it’s time for a fresh look and feel. Our first step has been meeting with our fantastic photographer David Williams to discuss what kinds of photos the website needs. He asked us plenty of questions and sent us away with some homework. We went back to the drawing board, relooking at our values as a business, our services and our office culture. Translating these into a visual aesthetic required a very special tool: a MindMap.
MindMaps are a great way to visually conceptualise a website. What we needed to decide was what photos we want to take and for what. We have 7 pages on our website. For each page we need at least one photo and the photo for each page needs to accurately represent the brand and the function of the page.
We decided that we wanted to shoot pomegranates in interesting ways to represent our services. There is a lot you can do with a fruit when you sit down and think about it. Here is our MindMap:
