We are five!
By Carla
This past Friday, we at Pomegranite put on our 5th birthday bash at The German Club in Gardens. To give you an idea of the success of our party, I will begin at the end:
Tom, Liz and IÂ on stage at The Manila Bar performing (read: shouting) Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody:
Liz: “I’ve signed us up to sing Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Carla: “You know I can’t sing, right?”
Liz: “I know.”
Carla: “Cool!”
Needless to say, our Pomegranite trio wowed the crowd.
The evening began with a rainbow and some (rather excited at times) mingling:
Sarah started us off with a few well-chosen words detailing Pomegranite’s five year journey. One of the most wonderful things about working at Pomegranite (and there are many wonderful things) is the real gratitude showered upon us by Liz and Sarah for the work we do. Current and previous Pomegranite’s alike felt the love during Sarah’s speech:
As is our custom at Pomegranite, we put on a totally ridiculous quiz consisting of four rounds:
- Know your Pomegranites
- Let’s get technical
- General knowledge
- Would I lie to you?
And our lovely clients, friends and loved-ones reciprocated with completely ridiculous points-of-order, auditing of the answer sheets (thanks Iriduim!) and leaping onto chairs for bonus questions!
To describe our winning team I would use the following adjectives:
- Precise
- Driven
- Fast (when climbing onto chairs)
- Competitive (to-the-max)
Some of our guests were initially quite anxious about being split up from their dates/colleagues into groups of the ‘unknown’. However, despite these anxieties much fun was had and after the quiz had ended the chit-chat continued within the new groups.
All-in-all we had a wonderful time and we would like to thank everyone who celebrated this milestone with us. As Sarah and Liz are wont to say: ‘starting a business is no joke’ and having wonderful family, friends, clients and colleagues to support us makes all the difference.
