How to create Instagram ads via Facebook
by Carla
Instagram has an all-new adverts function. The only tricky thing? You have to set up your campaigns through Facebook.
Not to worry – we have created an easy step-by-step guide to get you through the first one.
Step 1:
Go to your ‘adverts manager’. (If you don’t have this you will need to set up your Facebook Adverts account first)
Step 2:
Once you arrive in your adverts manager click the button that reads ‘+Create Campaign’.
Step 3:
Choose the ‘send people to your website’ objective for your campaign.
Enter the URL of your site (the one your Instagram advert will be promoting).
Click ‘continue’.
Step 4:
Set your audience according to who you want your ad to reach. Make sure that your audience shows up as defined on the right-hand side dial.
Step 5:
Set your budget. Make sure to decide between a daily budget or a lifetime budget.
If you choose a lifetime budget that is the total amount you will spend.
If you choose a daily budget it will be your spend per day. If you choose this option be sure to double-check your duration.
Both options require a duration.
Step 6:
Decide on an image for your advert.
I would say that a single image makes more sense if this is your first time, however feel free to be adventurous.
Make sure to delete any images that Facebook automatically selects for you.
Step 7:
Adjust the cropping of the image accordingly for Facebook and Instagram.
Step 8:
Set the text that accompanies the post and the accounts that the post will be linked to.
Select the Facebook page that corresponds with you advert.
Select the Instagram account that corresponds with your advert.
Finally set the ‘headline’ and the text that will accompany your image.
A preview option is available for desktop, mobile, etc.
Step 9:
‘Review’ and finally ‘place order’.
